Crazy for Mango Butter! This week's ingredient spotlight is all about Mango Butter! No doubt most of you have heard of, and have also used, shea butter and/or cocoa butter, but mango butter is my favorite go-to butter for most of the To Be Organics body care and soaps.

Mango is a staple here in Hawaii, in fact, we have two beautiful mango trees on our property. I always get so excited when I see the first little nubbins of growth, and my mind starts reeling on what culinary concoctions my chef hubby, and To Be business partner, will create! But mango isn't only for eating. The skincare benefits are numerous from the enzymes to the seed. And not to mention the aroma!

Fairly new to the cosmetic world, Mango butter is light, hydrating and packed with nutrition.

What is Mango Butter? Mango Butter comes from the seed of the fruit. The seeds are placed in a hydraulic press, where the seed oil is extracted with high pressure. After all of the oil has been extracted from the fruit seeds, it is heated and boiled to a rich and creamy consistency. The final product is solid at room temperature. It melts easily with body heat, and has light yet protective moisturizing layer that is easily absorbed by the skin, leaving it feeling satiny rather than greasy.

What's it good for? Loaded with vitamins like A and E, essential fatty acids, and natural antioxidants, this butter can be extremely nourishing to both the hair and skin. "You are what you eat" has always rung true to me in regards to your skin. Nutrition is important to your organs right? Well... the skin is the largest organ of our body, and needs just as much nutrition. So stocking up with vitamins and minerals through skincare has never felt so right! And the older we get, the more that helps with suppleness, elasticity, and evening out our skin tone.... not to mention it... just.. feels.. good.

Good for all skin types Mango Butter is non-comedogenic. That means that it won’t clog pores or aggravate acne-prone skin.  This makes Mango Butter a great choice for moisturizing almost any skin type. Dry skin will love the highly moisturizing benefits of this butter. Mango Butter contains essential fatty acids and antioxidants that make it a wonderful choice for mature skin as well. Mango butter is the highlight in our Nourishing Facial Balm, which is great for all skin types. The rich, nourishing nature of this butter can even help benefit those suffering from skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis.

Our Lotion Bars are a great way to hydrate on the go. We selected mango butter as our base for it's fast absorption and light non greasy feel.

Because it’s rich in vitamin C, mango butter can help encourage a more plump and tighter look. It also promotes a firmer appearance on skin. Mango Butter is also high in vitamin A which provides a more long lasting type of moisturization, which can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving you with a revitalized glow. Get your daily skin dose of Mango Butter in our Luxury Soap Bars! With the addition of avocado oil, olive oil and coconut milk, it's like bathing in a creamy, moisturizing, soap smoothie for your skin.
